Boripe community primary health care centre located in Osun state, SouthWest Nigeria is wearing a new look with the purchase of medicines, medical equipments and painting of the external facility. The facility upgrade is funded by the WishWall Foundation and coordinated by iRead To Live Initiative, Nigeria. The primary health centre serves a minimum of about 800 residents of the community, before now, it has not received adequate attention and funding to encourage patronage and discharge of basic medical needs.
On 1st of August 2020, Jacob arrived the community in company of Taiwo Johnson- Project Manager of iRead To Live Initiative on a tour of the facility. In a brief interview with Matron Olaoye, she said that: “We are in need of some drugs and medical equipments in this facility to help us in carrying out our duty as health practitioners, when we have patients who are mostly pregnant women, we as nurses have to make purchase of basic needs to be used in attending to our patients, we can no longer afford doing that”.
After several days of purchase and upgrade, the primary health centre has now taking delivery of medicine, medical equipments and painting of the facility. The Matron while receiving the items thanked the WishWall Foundation and iRead To Live Initiative for their support and promises to make good use of the items received. She further said that: we are very delighted for this kind donation and happy to put in our best in providing improved services for our patients.
