An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has built a restaurant with a Five Nights at Freddy‘s theme in the Happy Home Paradise DLC. The survival horror Five Nights at Freddy’s video game series started in 2014. The main video game series takes place in locations related to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a family pizza restaurant. Usually, gamers play as a nighttime employee who uses common day items in the location (like security cameras, doors, and vents) to survive the threats from evil animatronic characters. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach was released two weeks ago, so a fan-made crossover between the game and Animal Crossing: New Horizons is not surprising.
Because the Animal Crossing video game series lets players essentially build whatever they can imagine, the games lend themselves to creative fans making themed buildings. With Animal Crossing: New Horizons specifically, players can design restaurants, libraries, and parks for their island. In fact, one Animal Crossing player designed a Wario-themed restaurant. For the Wario-themed restaurant and other creations like it, players use the game’s large catalog of items and terraforming tools to design a unique island. Furthermore, players can share their custom designs with other players in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community.
Reddit user arterialrainbow posted pictures showcasing their Five Nights at Freddy’s-themed restaurant on the Animal Crossing subreddit. In the first photo, six Animal Crossing villagers are seen standing in front of a stage with a red curtain in a room with black-and-white checkered walls. Curt, Audie, Twiggy, Hopkins, Grizzly, and Judy are posed around a table full of pizza and represent the hostile animatronics. Another picture shows Animal Crossing’s Boots and Lobo in the video surveillance room. A closer look at arterialrainbow’s main room reveals security cameras on the walls of the room.

What’s notable about this fan art is that arterialrainbow used villagers new to the Animal Crossing franchise, like Judy and Audie. The villagers also look similar to their supposed Five Nights at Freddy’s counterparts. Also, the Animal Crossing fan’s creation remains accurate to the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. For example, bird villager Twiggy sports the same “Let’s Eat!!!” bib that the animatronic antagonist Chica wears in most Five Nights at Freddy‘s franchise. Animal Crossing’s Lobo also sports Roxanne Wolf’s red and black midriff.
The Five Nights at Freddy‘s-themed restaurant in Animal Crossing: New Horizons makes for a very cute recreation of a very scary video game series. Though both games are wildly different from one another, arterialrainbow’s creation makes for a happy medium between the two.
