Ruban Nielson’s brother Kody drums on the band’s annual Christmas track
Annually, since 2013, Unknown Mortal Orchestra have released a new ambient or instrumental track around Christmastime. The new installment, “SB-09,” features bandleader Ruban Nielson’s brother Kody on drums. Listen to the nearly-19-minute “SB-09” below.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra returned this past summer with the singles “Weekend Run” and “That Life.” Back in 2018, the band issued Sex & Food and the instrumental record IC-01 Hanoi, which featured Kody Nielson and Ruban’s father Chris, as well as Jacob Portrait and Minh Nguyen.
