Trump campaign swipes at Harris following medical report release

Former President Trump’s campaign swiped at his opponent, Vice President Harris, and her campaign, following the release of her medical report, alleging she has a “much lighter” campaign schedule.

Steven Cheung, Trump campaign’s communications director, claimed in a Saturday statement that the GOP nominee “voluntarily released updates from his personal physician, as well as detailed reports from Dr. Ronny Jackson [R-Texas] who treated him after the first assassination attempt.”

“All have concluded he is in perfect and excellent health to be Commander in Chief,” Cheung said. “He has maintained an extremely busy and active campaign schedule unlike any other in political history, whereas Kamala Harris has been unable to keep up with the demands of campaigning and reveals on a daily basis she is wholly unqualified to be President of the United States.

“Her schedule is much lighter because, it is said, she does not have the stamina of President Trump. Polls are reflective of this.”

Trump’s campaign’s jab at the Democratic nominee came after Harris released her medical history on Saturday. The report said that she is in “excellent health” and possesses the physical and mental capability to serve in the White House.

Harris’s physician, Joshua R. Simmons, released the report that said the vice president is a “healthy 59-year-old female who has a medical history notable for seasonal allergies and urticaria.” The report revealed she wears contact lenses. The report was from Harris’s most recent physical exam done in April 2024.

Trump, 78, told CBS News in an August interview that he would “very gladly” release his medical records. He has not. Cheung attached three links to letters in the Saturday campaign statement, two from Jackson and one from a personal physician saying the ex-president’s overall health is “excellent.”

The Hill has reached out to Harris’s campaign for comment.
