Crews Stop Forward Progress of Centerville Fire in Northern California

Cal Fire’s Butte Unit quickly gained control of the Centerville wildfire in Chico, California, reaching 60 percent containment after it broke out on September 2, the service said on September 3.

Cal Fire said its crews worked “through the night patrolling and mitigating hot spots” and the fire was holding at 59 acres.
