Channing Tatum Movie ‘Roofman’ Hits Theaters October 2025

The Paramount release of Miramax’s Derek Cianfrance movie Roofman is opening on Oct. 3, 2025.

We first told you about the Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage movie which is based on the true story about a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname “Roofman.” After escaping from prison, he starts a new life while hiding in a toy store, falling in love with a single mother and her two daughters. However, his criminal past and a final robbery threaten to destroy his chance at redemption.

Derek Cianfrance and Kirk Gunn are writing the script. Producers are Lynette Howell Taylor, Jamie Patricof and Duncan Montgomery.

Tatum, Cianfrance and Jonathan Montepare will exec produce as will Limelight’s Chris Parker. Miramax’s Jonathan Glickman, Becky Sloviter and Thom Zadra will also exec produce as will High Frequency’s Jack Selby, Sam Romano and Rick Covert. Charles Barsamian is also an executive producer.

Miramax acquired the film for certain territories, including the U.S. Paramount Pictures will distribute in those territories as part of Miramax and Paramount Pictures’ first look deal. U.S. FilmNation Entertainment handled international sales, and Aperture Media Partners financed.

Paramount’s awards season title this year include Gladiator II, September 5, Better Man and Transformers One. September 5 is 90% fresh with critics on Rotten Tomatoes while Better Man is 87% fresh and Transformers One is 89% certified fresh.
