CNN commentator says Biden is going to ‘leave office in disgrace’

CNN commentator Scott Jennings said President Biden is leaving office in “disgrace.”

Jennings joined host Dana Bash and contributor Karen Finney on Sunday for CNN’s “State of the Union” panel to discuss Biden’s time in office as it draws to a close.

Finney argued that while there were concerns about Biden’s health and fitness for office that emerged earlier this year, he largely was a good president and the impacts of his work will be felt for years to come.

“I think he’s gonna leave office in disgrace,” Jennings said in disagreement, as highlighted by Mediaite. “The Hunter Biden pardon was disgraceful. He’s going to be remembered largely for inflation and for the disastrous Afghanistan pullout.”

Jennings continued, highlighting a concern that Biden’s staff covered up a decline in cognitive function ahead of the 2024 presidential election and “for all four years.”

“I think it’s going to be a really ugly chapter,” he said. “It’s a diminished presidency because of it.”

“I think we still don’t know the full extent of what they did to try to hide what they’ve been doing over in the West Wing,” Jennings concluded.

With just under a month until President-elect Trump takes office, Biden has set in motion some of his last-minute plans as president.

In a controversial move, he pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, and commuted the sentences of 37 people on federal death row.
