Lucy Dacus has announced her new album Forever Is a Feeling, out March 28 via Geffen Records. The singer-songwriter has also announced a supporting US tour for spring 2025 and released two new songs: “Ankles” and “Limerence.” Stream both tracks below.
Dacus wrote Forever Is a Feeling between 2022 and 2024, focusing on themes of adulthood, romance, and sexuality. Notably, the tracklist boasts contributions from Hozier, Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, Collin Pastore, Jake Finch, and Melina Duterte. Pre-orders are ongoing.
“I got kicked in the head with emotions… Falling in love, falling out of love,” Dacus said of the record’s origins. “You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.”
To celebrate the release of Forever Is a Feeling, Dacus will hit the road for 13-date tour. Kicking off April 16th in Philadelphia, the “Forever Is a Feeling Tour” will see the artist bring along Katie Gavin (of MUNA) and jasmine.4.t for support. An artist pre-sale for the tour goes live Tuesday, January 21st. Sign up for access here. The two new singles showcase Dacus’ new era, which features lush production and her characteristically personal lyrics. “Ankles,” for instance, is a string-backed, love-sick indie bop that delves into romantic and sexual longing. Stream both songs below.
Since releasing her 2021 album, Home Video, Dacus has been focused on boygenius, her group with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. Most recently, the trio followed their dropped their Grammy-winning debut album, the record, with a 2023 EP titled the rest.
