What began as a gag in a Seinfeld episode (really) has turned into a cultural phenomenon: A bunch of hot singles forced to spend a month together but prohibited from touching themselves—or each other. That’s the premise of Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle, and if you’re looking for another round of sexy rule-breaking, a second season of the reality dating show could be coming.

A new season hasn’t been announced—but a reunion episode could be on the way.
Netflix hasn’t officially green-lit Too Hot To Handle 2, but producers of the show have suggested a follow-up isn’t out of the question. During a recent interview with People, producer Louise Peet addressed both a a second season and a Tiger King-like reunion episode. “We have to wait and see [about a reunion].” she said. “I have some ideas [for season 2], but I am keeping them top secret for now!”
Plus, there’s precedent for Netflix renewing reality shows; in March, the streaming service renewed both Love Is Blind and The Circle for additional seasons.
In future seasons, the pricing system for sex might change.
The price for sexual tension is high on Too Hot To Handle. As evidenced by taboo trysts between contestants Harry and Francesca, a clandestine kiss or not-so-hidden hookup will cost you. (That $6,000 penalty for a blow job particularly raised eyebrows.)
But that doesn’t mean the prices will stay the same in future seasons. “We knew that the infractions had to be fair and uniform across the board,” Peet told People. “So a kiss was always $3,000, but maybe in another [season], if another [season] happens, then it could be another amount. There are no set rules. It’s not a price list, inflation could affect it. We just don’t know!”

Both the casting process and premise for season 2 would have to be different.
Obviously, the conceit of Too Hot To Handle is that contestants find out on film that they can’t touch each other. Producers told OprahMag.com that even without knowing the true premise, more than 3,000 people signed up for the show.
After the show’s popular first season, the number of applicants for season 2 is bound to skyrocket. But a second season would need to switch up the formula; if contestants know they’re signing up for a month-long celibacy camp, where is the element of surprise or opportunity for an eleventh-hour rule change?

Since there’s no official word on Too Hot To Handle season 2, a release date hasn’t been confirmed. However, filming on the next season would likely be delayed. Safety concerns over COVID-19 have stalled virtually every film and TV project, including high-profile productions such as the long-awaited Friends reunion and Camila Cabello’s Cinderella.
