Episode 11 of the seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will feature Order 66. The penultimate episode to the Clone Wars series finale is sure to be epic, now that the timeline has completely crossed over into the tumultuous events that occurred during Revenge of the Sith. Ahsoka Tano may have survived her duel with Darth Maul during the Siege of Mandalore, but it will be harder for Anakin’s former apprentice to escape Order 66.
Ahsoka may have successfully bested Darth Maul in the previous episode called, ”The Phantom Apprentice,” but the former Jedi was left feeling less than victorious. Maul warned her that her former master Anakin Skywalker was the key to Darth Sidious triumphing over the Jedi. Ahsoka refused to believe Anakin would fall to the Dark Side. However, she senses a deep disturbance in the Force that leaves her feeling uneasy, yet still unaware of the tragedy to come.
An upcoming synopsis for episode eleven of The Clone Wars, titled “Shattered,” confirms a major plot detail that will change Ahsoka’s life forever. The episode summary mentions the infamous Order 66 is declared during her journey to deliver Darth Maul to the Jedi Council on Coruscant. The preview for the episode, set to premiere on Disney+ on May 1st, is like an uneasy calm before the dark storm that is Darth Sidious’s sinister plans. Check out the episode synopsis and clip from the Star Wars YouTube channel below:
After successfully capturing Maul on Mandalore, Ahsoka plans to deliver him to the Jedi Council on Coruscant. When Order 66 is declared in the midst of her journey, her world is turned upside down. Friends become foes, and enemies become allies in “Shattered” this Friday, May 1 st , followed by the heart-pounding series finale “Victory and Death” on Monday May 4th on Disney+.
The sense of impending doom and destruction is evident in Ahsoka’s face in the clip. While fans are already well aware of what Order 66 entails, Ahsoka does not, in what is already turning out to be a terribly tragic case of dramatic irony. Another question that may finally get answered is how Ahsoka survives Order 66. After all, she may appear in season two of The Mandalorian, which is set after the fall of the Empire. The greatest mystery of the upcoming episode isn’t Order 66 itself, but rather what happens next.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars has only two episodes left and then the series is done for good. The show did an excellent job of explaining events that occurred in the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Like Anakin’s fall to the Dark Side, it was inevitable that Clone Wars eventually caught up to the events in the third and final Star Wars prequel film. It will be interesting to watch the tragedy of Order 66 through Ahsoka’s perspective and perhaps see a possible Darth Vader appearance in the series finale. The Clone Wars has been a valuable addition to Star Wars canon. While it may be ending, the story of Star Wars continues.
