Every DC Movie No Longer Leaving HBO Max | Screen Rant

Entertainment

HBO Max has extended the availability for several of its DC movies previously set to leave next week. Earlier this month, it was reported the WarnerMedia subscription service would be rotating out roughly half of its DC collection come July 1. This seemed like an odd move considering HBO Max was only a couple of weeks out from its May 27 launch at that point, and the fact that its host of DC titles was a major selling point. In fact, with the announcement Justice League‘s long-awaited Snyder Cut was finally to be revealed on the subscription service’s platform, HBO Max seemed to be establishing itself as the new home for DC Entertainment.

Thanks to the outpouring of feedback from DC fans, HBO Max issued a press release noting the extended availability of Suicide SquadWonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League (2017), which were all originally set to leave July 1. A slew of Superman titles will also stay on the service, including Superman: The Movie (1978), Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983), and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (1987). Meanwhile, the Watchmen movie and Superman: Unbound (2013) will join the service on July 1. The availability of all these titles, including the two arriving next month, has been extended through December 2020.

DC Movies Leaving HBO Max

While many titles are still disappearing at the end of the month, there are a plethora of DC titles coming to HBO Max in July to fill the void. Along with Superman, several additions will be made to the Batman and Justice League franchises as well. Warner Media will also be flushing out the Green Lantern series with Green Lantern: Emerald Knights and Green Lantern: First Flight. The media company plans to keep this rotational pattern up on HBO Max, circulating through the vast number of DC titles to keep an ever-changing selection on hand. This is a good strategy, as it will leave fans wanting more. However, it also seems the new streaming service is willing to make adjustments based on what viewers want to watch.

The Release The Snyder Cut movement directly influencing the release of Zack Snyder’s fabled Justice League director’s cut proves the DC fan base is powerfully effective. Knowing this, it should come as no surprise that Warner delivered when DC fans demanded more. With the constant rotation of titles, however, fans will need to keep an eye on HBO Max‘s “Last Chance” list, so they don’t miss any DC movies or shows departing the service.
