Gal Gadot Video of Her Wearing Affleck’s Cowl Resurfaces for Batman Day

Entertainment

In celebration of Batman Day, Gal Gadot has re-shared a behind-the-scenes video of her trying on Ben Affleck’s Batman cowl. After being hand-picked by Christopher Nolan to helm Man of Steel, Zack Snyder was tasked with creating the DC Extended Universe. Therefore, he chose Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Affleck as Batman, and Gadot as Wonder Woman. Before stealing scenes in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot was best known for supporting roles in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Gadot’s lead outing in Wonder Woman made her a household name and the quintessential princess of the Amazons. Amid controversy surrounding “Josstice League” and Warner Bros.’ abandonment of the Snyder-Verse, Gadot’s Diana lead the charge with standalone films like Wonder Woman 1984. While that sequel received mixed reactions, the next DC film, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, has been praised by fans and critics alike, with many loving the portrayal of Gadot’s character in the Snyder Cut more than in any other film. That same can also be said for the rest of the cast, including Affleck’s caped crusader.

Every third Saturday of September, fans celebrate the Dark Knight’s long history in entertainment. To celebrate Batman Day, Gadot took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes video of herself wearing the Batman cowl on the set of Justice League. Check it out below:

Also, in celebration of Batman Day, Snyder shared a picture of himself wearing the same cowl. Despite an outcry to restore the Snyder-Verse, Snyder’s tenure in the DCEU (as well as his relationship with WB) appears to be over. The same cannot be said for Gadot. Days after the release of Wonder Woman 1984, it was announced that director Patty Jenkins and Gadot would reunite for a third Wonder Woman film, likely set in the present day. As for “Batfleck,” Affleck was at one point going to write, direct, and star in his own Batman movie before he dropped out and WB recast Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Nevertheless, Snyder’s Justice League has reinforced the fandom’s desire to see more of Affleck in the cowl.

Affleck’s reshoots for Snyder’s Justice League were thought to be his final minutes as Batman. Then, it was announced that he would be reprising his role alongside Michael Keaton’s iconic version of the character in The Flash. Unfortunately, his role in that movie will likely be the end of his DCEU career. Regarding Snyder’s Justice League trilogy and Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, there are plenty of plots threads left untied; including his Knightmare and the Joker’s murder of Robin. Still, there’s no ruling out future appearances of the cowl with Gadot in standalone projects like Wonder Woman 3.
