Everything We Know About Season 2 of And Just Like That…

The Sex and the City reboot series And Just Like That… has been quite an experience for fans and haters. The show seems to offer something to both groups, reuniting viewers with their favorite characters while introducing a number of controversial storylines. The original SATC paired the gals off with the men of their dreams, but this new iteration has blown that up, killing off Mr. Big, and having Miranda Hobbes betray her sweet husband Steve Brady with a torrid affair. (Charlotte and Harry seem to be going strong, though.)

Actress Kim Cattrall also notoriously declined to participate in the series and her character Samantha Jones has been banished to London. Cattrall’s refusal was controversial enough, but scenes featuring actor Chris Noth were removed as well when allegations of sexual misconduct came out from a number of different women. Noth has denied all the accusations.

As yet, there’s been no confirmation that the reboot will get a second season as the first one comes to a close. The 10-episode season is about to wrap up, but there have been a few hints from actors and producers that there might be 10 more. Eventually.

Could And Just Like That… be renewed?

A source recently told Page Six, “The creative conversations haven’t happened yet, but everyone is feeling good about the show.”

A second anonymous source claimed that even the criticism of the show has increased the chances another season will get made.

“They may feel that they want to prove a point that they can make a second season stronger and that it was valid to bring it back for fans,” they said.

HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys told Vulture at the end of 2021 that a season two was “certainly a conversation we’ll have—for sure. But we haven’t decided anything or done anything.”

He continued, “I’m going to leave it up to these guys to figure out what they want to do, but I’m very happy with what they’ve done. I will tell you, it’s kind of what you want in a show like this. It really does feel like you’re picking up with old friends and haven’t missed a beat.”

Actress Sarita Choudhury, who plays Carrie Bradshaw’s new real estate-selling friend, said in an interview that she has been thinking about a season 2 as well. Choudhury told Entertainment Tonight, “Just the other day, I was thinking, ‘I wonder.’ Because there’s a point where they let you know if there is or not and we’re not at that point yet. I was thinking, ‘God, I hope there is,’ And also, I was thinking, you know when you bring in new characters and you just start establishing and everyone’s getting used to all of us having grown up, Carrie’s grown up. I feel like the second [season] would be able to just jump into who they really are as opposed to getting the audience used to seeing what they’re seeing. So I would love a second season, but I really don’t know.”

That’s actually pretty convincing.
