Pinhead Gunpowder — the Green Day side-project featuring frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and touring guitarist Jason White — are continuing their recent-ish “resurgence” with a forthcoming North American tour later this fall.
The band has 12 dates slated for October and November, including shows in Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Night Shop will open during for the East Coast and Midwest dates, and for the West Coast leg, the band’s tapped Constant Insult. Check out the full schedule below. In addition to singer-guitarists Armstrong and White, Pinhead Gunpowder’s lineup is rounded out by drummer Aaron Cometbus and bassist Bill Schneider.
After a 16-year break between releasing new music, Pinhead Gunpowder returned in fall 2024 with an album called Unt. As the band explained in an open letter that accompanied the release, they “started writing songs in 1990 and made our first 7-inch the following spring… but since 2010, we’ve been playing just for ourselves.” When not busy with their day jobs, the band worked on reissues, played select shows across the world, and generally “remembered how we’d made the music for each other in the first place.”
