Camila Cabello’s Romance album comes to its conclusion with its second to last track, “Used to This,” a song that is very clearly about Cabello’s real-life romance with Shawn Mendes and her feelings about him as their relationship blossomed these past couple months.

Cabello played the song ahead of its release for fans at her New York City pop-up shop Thursday afternoon after they overwhelmingly requested it (Cabello previously teased all songs from her new album on Instagram). “Oh my god, actually I didn’t realize San Francisco was going to hear that song,” Cabello joked about her slight dig at the city in one of the song’s verses. “[They’ll be like] ‘You never liked me?! You said you did!'”

Cabello spoke last month about how she and Mendes had their first kiss in San Francisco this summer. The two were filmed making out in the city, in fact, on July 12.

Cabello told the crowd at Apple Music’s New Music Daily performance in November, via an eyewitness, that she was “working on a song with Billie Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell. Cabello said she and O’Connell started working on the song, ‘Used To This,’ which came together just one day after her trip to San Francisco, where she and Mendes shared their first date and kiss.”

Of course, the couple’s summer fling blossomed into a full-fledge relationship by the fall. Here, take in Cabello’s “Used to This” lyrics, via Genius, and how she immortalized their first kiss through music.

Verse 1:
No, I never liked San Francisco
Never thought it was nothin’ special
‘Till you kissed me there
No, I never liked windy cities
But I think maybe when you’re with me
I like everywhere (Oh)

Cabello followed Mendes on some of his tour stops during the summer, including Montreal where they were photographed kissing in a restaurant there. A source told E! in July, when their romance was just starting up, that Cabello was purposely joining him on his tour when she could because she was that into him. “[She] wants to be there and not leave his side,” the source said. “Neither of them want to be away from each other. She has the opportunity to be there with him and she’s taking it.”
Pre-Chorus:
It’s the strangest feelin’
Midnight, I’m not leavin’
No, for once, I think I’ll stay (Oh)
I say your name, just listen
Doesn’t it sound different?
Never whispered it this way

Chorus:

It’s gonna take me a minute
But I could get used to this
The feelin’ of your fingertips
The feelin’ of another kiss
It’s gonna take me a minute (Oh)
But I could get used to this (Oh)
Like every tattoo on your skin (Oh)
Memorizin’ every inch
I could get used to this (Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
I could get used to this, definitely

Verse 2:

No, I never did like tequila
But there’s something ’bout when I see ya
Think I need a drink
And the calluses on your fingers
I admire them from a distance
Now they’re on my cheek

Mendes, of course, is a tattooed singer and guitar player.

Pre-Chorus:
Oh, I’ve known you forever
Now I know you better
Let’s just get carried away, oh (Oh)
And it bears repeating
How hard my heart’s beating
When you tell me I should stay

Cabello and Mendes have been friends since they were teenagers (as Cabello sings later in “Used to This,” “Seventeen when we started to fall”). Cabello said they had feelings for each other then but just weren’t ready to act on them. “Definitely there were feelings [when we were working on “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 2015], but I think we were just too young to know what to do with them,” she told The Sun in October.

Chorus:
It’s gonna take me a minute
But I could get used to this (Yeah)
The feelin’ of your fingertips
The feelin’ of another kiss
It’s gonna take me a minute (Oh)
But I could get used to this (Oh)
Like every tattoo on your skin (Oh)
Memorizin’ every inch
I could get used to this (Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
I could get used to this (Oh, oh, stay, stay, stay, stay)
I could get used to this (Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
I could get used to this, definitely

Bridge:

No, I never liked San Francisco
Never thought it was nothin’ special
‘Til you kissed me there

Chorus:
Oh, it’s gonna take me a minute
But I could get used to this (Yeah)
The feelin’ of your fingertips (Ah)
The feelin’ of another kiss (The feelin’ of another kiss)
It’s gonna take me a minute (Oh)
But I could get used to this (Oh)
Like every tattoo on your skin (On your skin, oh)
Memorizin’ every inch
I could get used to this (I feel it all)
I could get used to this (Your kisses, oh, I’ll risk it all)
I could get used to this (Seventeen when we started to fall, but we lost it all)
I could get used to this (And I just can’t believe it all), definitely
