Stranger Things Theory: Where Joyce, Will & Eleven Live In Season 4

Entertainment

Stranger Things season 3 saw the Byers (along with Eleven) leaving Hawkins, though where they moved wasn’t revealed. However, a recent casting rumor could hint at where the Byers will be in season 4. The Duffer Brothers’ hit sci-fi series Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most popular titles, and fans are now patiently waiting for season 4 to arrive, as there are a lot of questions waiting to be answered.

Season 1 of Stranger Things introduced viewers to the town of Hawkins and the dangerous experiments taking place at Hawkins Lab. This season focused on the disappearance of Will Byers and Eleven’s escape from the lab, which in turn brought the Demogorgon to the attention of some of Hawkins’ residents. Season 2 dealt with the consequences of Will’s time in the Upside Down, and season 3 saw the group taking down an underground Russian lab as well as the new and improved Mind Flayer.

Stranger Things season 3 also left a big cliffhanger with Jim Hopper’s supposed death, though he is now confirmed to be the American prisoner in Russia. Last season also saw Joyce, Will, and Jonathan Byers leaving Hawkins along with Eleven – but where could they be now?

Stranger Things Theory: The Byers’ New Location Will Bring Lonnie Back

In season 3 of Stranger Things, Hopper found out that Joyce was planning to leave Hawkins and move somewhere else, though exactly where was never specified. The Byers ended up moving, and brought Eleven with them as she’s now technically an orphan. Plot details on Stranger Things season 4 are a mystery, but an eagle-eyed fan spotted a familiar face in the cast video released by the show, hinting at the possible return of a character briefly seen in season 1 (and who earned the dislike of Stranger Things fans): Lonnie Byers, Jonathan and Will’s father.

Lonnie doesn’t have a relationship with his sons and didn’t care that Will went missing. He doesn’t even live in Hawkins anymore, having moved to Indianapolis prior to the events of the series. Of course, Joyce is very angry at him, more so after he tried to profit from Will’s supposed death, and wouldn’t go after him for anything. However, the possible appearance of Ross Partridge in the aforementioned video might suggest that the Byers and Eleven are now living in Indianapolis, and they’re now closer to Lonnie. If so, Joyce must have had some powerful reasons to move there, as Lonnie isn’t her (nor Jonathan’s) favorite person. Lonnie was originally planned to have a redemption of sorts, and his appearance in season 4 could be his way to achieve it. It’s going to be a long wait to know where the Byers will be in Stranger Things season 4, but Lonnie’s possible appearance might very well offer some clues.
