Resident Evil 3 Remake: How To Get Rid Of Jill’s Parasites

Entertainment

Resident Evil 3 Remake is just as brutal as its predecessor with not only the infamous ‘Nemesis’ hunting players down but also with other little surprises peppered throughout the game. Like any survival horror game, there is a lot to overlook and maintain the status of characters and one feature that has to be noted is the “parasite status”.

Resident Evil 3 was originally released on September 22, 1999, by Capcom. It continued the story of Jill Valentine, who was one of the main characters of the series’ first entry, as she tries to escape Raccoon City during the events of Resident Evil 2. On April 3, 2020, Capcom released a remake that followed the same plot and had most of the same characters returning. Known for a more action-oriented vibe, Resident Evil 3 Remake re-introduced its main antagonist ‘Nemesis” as he relentlessly pursues players as they try to escape the city in one piece.

Unlike previous entries, there is quite a bit of ammunition load up with this installment. Plus, Jill Valentine is more nimble than Leon or Claire in Resident Evil 2. This is because there is a new “dodge feature” that has been implemented in this remake that enables Jill to shift back and forth to avoid danger. Jill’s move-set was made like this due to the frequent encounters with Nemesis in which players will have more of a fighting chance to escape. Beyond that tyrant stalking players, there is a myriad of other creatures lurking about that has all kinds of ways to decimate Jill. One, in particular, is a subterranean creature called a ‘Drain Deimos’.

When Players Will Encounter Parasites In Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 3 Remake Jill Parasite Fight

The ‘Drain Demios’ will be first encountered after players get a hold of the lockpick and use it for the first time in the sub-train station. Without warning, the little insect-like beast will leap on top of Jill and inject her with parasites. Once this happens, there are quite a few clues signifying Jill’s overall health status. She will move around more slowly and the player’s screen will be decored with red animation. Thus, if players look at the inventory screen, at the lower left-hand of the screen, they will see their health status marked with “Parasites” in purple lettering. Also, players will also see a little box next to it with insects scurrying about, cluing in that Jill’s system is overrun with parasites.

So, even though this may seem like a dire situation, rectifying it is fundamentally simple. Early, at the beginning of the sub-station, players will enter a room with various gardening tools. Here is where players will find a file to read and adjacent to it is a ‘green herb’. Be sure to collect everything and progress the mission. If players still have that green herb available, simply ‘use it’ from the inventory screen and Jill will violently throw up the parasites out of her system. After this happens, dispatch the parasite that’s scurrying all over the floor preferably with a shotgun.

Jill’s health status will reset and she can move around normally again. When in this location, players will need to reset the circuit breakers which can be a jarring venture since the entire area is crawling with ‘Drain Deimos’. Luckily, the area is rather generous with green herbs and players can utilize them when needed. If players feel they rather save the herbs and deal with the parasites in an alternate way, another option is just to simply complete the “Reset The Circuit Breakers” section and Jill will automatically throw up the parasites. This might be more challenging but, doing it will unlock the ‘I Might Need These Later’, achievement.
