Meghan and Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey has begun in the US, with millions of viewers watching to hear why they chose to step down as senior royals in the UK.

American audiences are the first to see the two-hour long Oprah With Meghan And Harry: A Primetime Special, while UK viewers will be able to watch on Monday from 9pm on ITV and ITV hub.

Several teasers have already been released for the much-anticipated broadcast with the US chat show queen, which show the former royal couple are not holding back in their criticism of “The Firm”.

The programme started with clips from the couple’s wedding, which the Duchess of Sussex described as an “out of body” experience.

Meghan, who is pregnant with her second child is talking to Oprah on her own at the beginning of the chat about her experience of becoming a royal and a mother, as well as her charity work.

Harry is then set to join the two women so the couple can discuss stepping down as senior royals, their move to the US, their plans for the future and how he feels about leaving his family role.
