Jason Momoa Has Arthur Curry’s Tattoos In Aquaman 2 Set Video

Entertainment

Jason Momoa shows off Arthur Curry’s tattoos in a new video from the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. After being a critical and box office success, a sequel to James Wan’s Aquaman was a no-brainer for Warner Bros. It took a little bit of time before work on the film, but now, production is officially in full swing with Momoa already back to work.

The original Aquaman film ended with Arthur officially taking his rightful place as the king of Atlantis with Mera (Amber Heard), Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), and Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe) providing him with help and guidance. Meanwhile, its post-credits scene effectively sets up his inevitable reunion with David Kane/Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who’s arguably more motivated than ever to exact his revenge, not just for what happened to his father, but also how their previous encounter almost killed him. It’s uncertain if Wan will use this as the narrative jumping point for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom with plot specifics for the sequel still tightly under wraps.

All that being said, with principal photography for the movie underway in London, expect more information about its story. In the meantime, Momoa has shared a video of himself on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, further hyping up fans with what to expect from the sequel. While he didn’t share anything with regard to the project’s narrative, he proudly showed Arthur’s neck tattoo. The clip ended with a zoom-in on his DCEU’s character name on his trailer. While filming for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has started in late June, Momoa has only arrived in London during the second week of July. Previously, Wan has already welcomed the arrival of Heard as she reprises her role as Mera, Arthur’s love interest and potential queen of Atlantis in the sequel, depending on its story. Meanwhile, other returning characters such as Patrick Wilson, who plays Orm, and Abdul-Mateen II have also teased their preparation to join the shoot, but they haven’t been spotted yet on the set. It’s currently unknown, on the other hand, if newcomer Pilou Asbaek, who boarded the project in April for a yet-t0-be-announced role, has already joined the rest of the cast.

Not much can be deciphered from the video that Momoa shared in terms of the story details for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The clip was more to promote his partnership with Harley Davidson. That being said, he previously revealed that Arthur will have more comic-accurate hair, meaning he will be blonder compared to the first film which is not the case here. Perhaps, he’s in the process of getting ready since he already has the character’s neck tattoo, which the actor doesn’t have in real life. In any case, expect more content from Momoa on the set of the sequel which would be enough to keep fans hyped up for the film until a proper first look is released.
