Foo Fighters are canceling all of their upcoming tour dates, following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. “We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned,” the band wrote. “Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.” Find the statement below.

Foo Fighters’ statement does not mention the band’s planned performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards. The performance was announced on March 24, and Hawkins died the following day. Pitchfork has reached out to Recording Academy representatives for comment and more information.

Taylor Hawkins died in Bogotá, Colombia ahead of the band’s scheduled performance at Festival Estéreo Picnic. The drummer’s last show with Foo Fighters took place on March 20 at Lollapalooza Argentina in Buenos Aires.

The news of Hawkins’ death was followed by an outpouring of tributes from the music community: Mick Jagger, Brian Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Questlove, Steve Albini, Johnny Marr, Ozzy Osbourne, Axl Rose, Tom Morello, and countless others paid their respects to the late drummer.

It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins. We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.

With Love,

Foo Fighters
