In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when the topic of romance came up, Hader explained he doesn’t discuss it for the sake of his kids.
“They just want me to be their dad,” he explained. “They just want me to sit and watch Encanto over and over and over again. So that’s what I do.”
He talked a little bit more about co-parenting during the pandemic, saying, “Maggie and I were just trying to keep them calm. And then, weirdly, it was the other way around. They would really keep us calm.”
A source told People in January, “Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year. They met years ago. She’s hosted Saturday Night Live and they’ve done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie.”
They continued, ”They are both very private people, and with the pandemic it was easy to keep it quiet…They’re both hysterical so they must keep each other laughing all of the time. She’s really, really happy.”
The couple has actually known each other for quite some time, working on two films together, 2013’s The To Do List and 2019’s Noelle. They were co-stars in the latter film. Kendrick was last romantically linked to cinematographer Ben Richardson, while Hader was in a long-term relationship with actress Rachel Bilson. They broke up in mid-2020.
