Olivia Culpo, Brandi Cyrus, and More Take Our Mother’s Day Questionnaire—With Their Moms!

Fashion

Being a celebrity certainly has its perks: travel, red carpets, photo shoots, etc. But oftentimes, these glamorous work commitments often mean you’re away from your family longer than you might like. This Mother’s Day, Naked Cashmere is inviting loved ones to be part of the fun with its “Love” campaign supporting the the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Starring Brandi and Tish Cyrus, Olivia Culpo and Susan Curran, Christina Perri and her baby girl, Carmella Stanley Constable, and Cheryl Hines and Cat Young, and photographed by celebrity photographers John Russo and Adam Franzino, the message of “Love” is to spread empowerment, education, and beauty via the inextricable mother-daughter bond (or one with another important woman in your life).

Since its debut in 2017, the “Love” collection has funded 5,540 hours of breast cancer research and has raised more than $277,000 for BCRF, an organization for which ELLE’s own Nina Garcia, who detailed her BARD1 journey in a 2019 op-ed, serves as a board member. “The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is near and dear to my heart,” says Garcia. “The collaboration with Naked Cashmere, which benefits BCRF, is truly heartwarming. It’s inspiring to see people with a shared mission of uplifting and supporting women come together for an amazing cause.”

Below, the Cyruses, Olivia Culpo and Susan Curran, Christina Perri and Carmella, and Cheryl Hines and Cat Young talk chick flicks, girls trips, guilty pleasures, and more with ELLE.

Favorite chick flick

Tish: About Last Night

Brandi: He’s Just Not That Into You

Go-to girls getaway

Tish: If we could travel anywhere, it would be Fiji, but our favorite go-to getaway is Hawaii.

Brandi: I fell in love with Interlaken, Switzerland and the surrounding mountain towns and would love to take my mom there someday. Our go-to girls getaway is usually just a cute “staycation” somewhere near L.A.—we love the Santa Monica Proper Hotel and the Parker Palm Springs.

    Signature dish

    Tish: Baked ziti.

Brandi: I really don’t cook much…but my mom loves this Brussels sprouts dish that I whip up, so when we do make dinner together, that’s always my contribution.

    Guilty pleasure

Tish: Getting stoned on a Sunday afternoon!

Brandi: The vegan maple donuts from Whole Foods. I eat way too many of them.

      Last gift she gave you

      Tish: A Vivace microneedling treatment.

Brandi: A necklace with two tiny stars: one for my horse, Star, and one for my dog, Astra. I wear it every day!

What you always steal from her closet

Tish: I love to steal Brandi’s Nike sneakers whenever I get the chance.

Brandi: [Tina’s] shoe collection is incredible. Every time I’m in L.A., I’m constantly borrowing them. Amazingly, Miley, Noah, my mom, and I all pretty much wear the same size shoe size, so we can all swap and share.

      Favorite chick flick

      Olivia: Miss Congeniality

Susan: Not a chick flick, but for Olivia, Shrek 2 or Shrek 3. She watched it every night the last two years of high school. “Better in than out?”

      Go-to girls getaway

Olivia: Key West or Mexico—somewhere with a beach and a skinny spicy margarita

Susan: I think Italy, but really, I just love to have [Olivia] at home in Rhode Island. Liv travels so much!

      Signature dish

Olivia: [Susan’s] homemade pizza! It is unbelievable, and it’s made in a pan that has been in our family for generations.

Susan: Olivia’s air fryer chicken parmesan.

      Guilty pleasure

Olivia: Susan likes to stick to the three major food groups: cheese, bread, and wine.

Susan: For Olivia, it’s ice cream. Liv is so disciplined with sweets…but she does love her ice cream.

      Last gift she gave you

Olivia: She is teaching me how to compost.

Susan: I received the most beautiful and over-the-top floral arrangement imaginable for my birthday. Liv is always so thoughtful.

What you always steal from her closet

Olivia: Susan steals my dad’s cashmere sweaters, and then I steal them from her.

Susan: Nothing in Liv’s closet fits me [laughs], even my feet are bigger.
