Entertainment

Heather Christie, a folk-soul singer, producer, and DJ, has launched Möonbabe Records, a groundbreaking label dedicated to supporting female music artists and mothers. With a strong commitment to empowerment and inclusivity, the label plans to release quarterly compilation albums showcasing the diverse talents of its associated artists, aiming to highlight the revolutionary creative works of mothers in music.

The debut compilation, “SPRING,” released today and features Heather’s track “Into This Body” alongside standout songs like SIIKA’s “Send Us To The Mountain” and Maya Dorn’s “Created To Love.” Möonbabe Records aims to amplify the wisdom of birth and motherhood, viewing moms who make music as agents of positive change. Heather’s journey, from her upbringing in Santa Cruz to her viral moment at the 2023 Spirit Weavers Gathering, underscores her commitment to music and motherhood, which inspired the founding of Möonbabe Records.

SPRING’ is the first of 4 compilation albums Möonbabe plans to release in 2024. Moms who make music are nothing short of revolutionary. It is the creative works of the bearers of our next generations that industries should highlight, because it is the wisdom of birth and motherhood that can lead our planet to peace. Möonbabe Records was a dream seed when – 10 years into my indie career – I became a mom. This compilation series is a celebration of everything I hope to see change for the better in my lifetime. Welcome to Möonbabe Records, the premiere music label for moms. – Heather Christie
