Live-Action Spider-Verse Art Imagines Spider-Man Noir in the MCU

Entertainment

Gorgeous new fan art imagines how Spider-Man Noir would look if Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took place in the MCU. The 2018 film centers around Miles Morales’ Spider-Man (Shameik Moore), where he encounters Spider-Men from various dimensions. Into the Spider-Verse quickly became a smash hit thanks to its incredible animation style and exciting storyline.

Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) was one of the many Spider-Men that Miles Morales came across in the movie. Spider-Man Noir was first introduced in 2009, and his comic book backstory explains that this version of Peter Parker was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. However, after Ben is killed by one of Norman Osborn’s henchmen, Peter becomes a reporter and successfully tracks down one of the mob boss’ shipments. It’s then that he’s bitten by a mystical spider, receives his powers, and takes up the mantle of Spider-Man Noir. While Spider-Man Noir doesn’t play the largest role in Into the Spider-Verse, he’s appeared in various other Spider-Man media, including games such as Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

Digital artist psychboz envisions a live-action Spider-Man Noir in some stunning Into the Spider-Verse fan art. The poster sets Into the Spider-Verse in the MCU; thus, while there are multiple, smaller Spider-Men in the image, one of them is likely Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. The artwork also features Spider-Man Noir front and center, overlooking a burning city. You can catch psychboz’s incredible creation below:

While there are no current plans to integrate Into the Spider-Verse into the greater MCU, directors did flirt with the idea of incorporating live-action Spider-Men into the film. More specifically, directors thought about including Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield in Into the Spider-Verse. All three actors have played the web-slinger in live-action movies in the past, and Holland’s Spider-Man has become a significant part of the MCU. However, while the idea would have been a fun Easter Egg for fans, Marvel and Sony quickly shot it down for being too strange. That being said, it seems fans will have to be content with Into the Spider-Verse and the MCU existing in separate spaces for the time being.

Into the Spider-Verse 2 started production in June of this year. Although many story details are still under wraps, the plot will reportedly spotlight Miles and Gwen Stacy’s (Hailee Steinfeld) relationship. To that end, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse blew fans away with the dynamic, charming cast of characters. As such, fans can’t wait to see what adventures the Spider-Men will go on next.
