Louis Tomlinson “Marries” Fan While Signing Autographs

While signing autographs during the Indonesian leg of his world tour, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson ended up signing a marriage certificate.

Some fans bring vinyls, t-shirts, or notebooks for artists to sign. But one Indonesian fan brought an official marriage certificate to Louis Tomlinson’s “Faith in the Future” tour stop in Jakarta — which Tomlinson jokingly lent his signature toThe document, which appears to be a Republic of Indonesia excerpt of marriage certificate, includes photos of both the fan’s and Tomlinson’s faces side-by-side and his signature scribbled in the center.

The fan shared the news of her “engagement” on TikTok, explaining that Tomlinson at first asked if it was “legit” and then eventually agreed to sign it. She even claims that at the post-show meet and greet, a friend asked if he’d be staying in Jakarta, to which Tomlinson responded, “If my wife wants to.”

While Tomlinson’s signature could represent a new level of extremity in the relationship between artists and their stans, Indonesian law does not recognize a marriage unless it’s performed in a ceremony — so technically, the certificate is still a souvenir and not a legally binding document.

Tomlinson’s “Faith in the Future” world tour continues through the spring, so there will be even more opportunities for international fans to tie the knot spend an evening with the One Direction singer. Get tickets to his upcoming tour dates here.
