Building on the momentum of Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, Lee Mendelson Film Productions is bringing something truly special to Record Store Day 2026 — a collector’s double LP celebrating two cornerstone Peanuts® television specials: It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown and Charlie Brown’s All Stars!. Available April 18, 2026 at participating stores, this release is already generating buzz among vinyl enthusiasts and Peanuts devotees alike.

Dubbed the “Baseball & Glove” edition, the set is a collector’s dream. Housed in a PVC gatefold, it pairs a 10-inch clear “baseball”-shaped LP of It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown with a 12-inch brown die-cut glove-shaped LP of Charlie Brown’s All Stars! — both pressed at 45 RPM. Rounding out the package is a 6-page tri-fold insert featuring original artwork and liner notes penned by Sean Mendelson, Jason Mendelson, and Derrick Bang, author of Vince Guaraldi at the Piano.
The timing carries real significance. This release celebrates the 50th anniversary of It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown and the 60th anniversary of Charlie Brown’s All Stars! — together representing the full arc of the first decade of Peanuts® television music. Charlie Brown’s All Stars! debuted June 8, 1966 as the second prime-time Peanuts® special following A Charlie Brown Christmas, while It’s Arbor Day aired March 16, 1976 as Guaraldi’s 15th and final Peanuts® score.
That final detail carries profound weight. The Arbor Day recordings were captured on February 6, 1976 — the very day Vince Guaraldi passed away at age 47 in Menlo Park, California. This isn’t merely a reissue. It’s a document of a final session, a last note held in time.

Musically, the set showcases two distinct ensembles. Charlie Brown’s All Stars! features the Vince Guaraldi Sextet — Guaraldi on piano, Eugene “Puzzy” Firth on bass, Eddie Duran on guitar, John Coppola and Frank Snow on trumpet, and Lee Charlton on drums — across seven tracks, some restored directly from 35mm negative soundtrack tape. It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown features the Vince Guaraldi Trio with Seward McCain on bass and Jim Zimmerman on drums, delivering 14 tracks including “Young Man’s Fancy,” “Jay Sterling Morton Jazz,” “Sprinkle Your Bird,” “Rain, Rain, Go Away (Rain, Gentle Rain),” and “Happy Arbor Day, Charlie Brown.”
